Microsoft local pricing update for cloud services and software services

Dear valued customers,

We hope this message finds you well. We would like to inform you about an upcoming change that will affect Microsoft pricing, which may have come to your attention recently. Starting from 1 September, 2023, Microsoft will be implementing a price increase in select regions, including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Switzerland. This adjustment is part of Microsoft's efforts to maintain global pricing consistency in alignment with prices denominated in US dollars.

For our Australian customers, this means that the costs associated with Microsoft solutions, both in the cloud and on-premises, will increase by approximately 9%. We understand that no one welcomes cost increases, but we want to assure you that we are here to support you through this transition.

Here is a breakdown of how this change will affect Microsoft 365 and Azure customers:

Microsoft 365 Subscriptions

On your next renewal after 1 September, 2023, your Microsoft 365 subscriptions will reflect a 9% increase. This pricing adjustment applies to commercial, government, academic, and non-profit customers, both for cloud and on-premises licensing.

Government organisations and some Enterprise Agreement (EA) customers with locked prices for existing agreements may experience different impacts. If you are uncertain about how this affects your specific agreement, we encourage you to reach out to your Account Manager for clarification.

For non-EA customers, billing frequency will determine when the price increase takes effect. If you are billed monthly, the increase will be reflected in your next monthly bill after 1 September, 2023. If you are billed annually, the increase will be applied to your next annual bill after the same date. Feel free to contact us to explore options for locking in an annual rate.

Affected Licensing Programs

This price adjustment will affect all commercial cloud and on-premises services sold through various agreements and programs, including Enterprise Agreements, Microsoft Customer Agreements, Cloud Solution Provider Programs, and more.

Azure Services

Starting 1 September 2023, customers purchasing Azure services in AUD will see pricing adjustments to match those of customers purchasing Azure services in USD through Azure.com and volume licensing agreements.

We understand that navigating these changes can be challenging, and we are committed to helping you minimise the financial impact on your organisation.
